DOGS IN A PILE:

14832_Dogs_In_A_Pile_12202023

The sandy shores of Asbury Park, New Jersey are hallowed ground in the Northeast; the rolling waves have ushered generations of venerated musicians to worldwide acclaim. Dogs In A Pile, an eclectic quintet, has emerged as the heir apparent to the town’s rich musical legacy. Merging funk, jazz, and rock and roll with psychedelia, the band presents a completely original vibe built on kaleidoscopic soundscapes eerily reminiscent of the days of yesteryear.

The Dogs employ a unified approach to performance and songwriting, crafting aural mosaics through adept instrumentation and humble precocity. As avid storytellers, they draw inspiration from personal experiences, balancing life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity.

Dogs formed when Jersey Shore native and guitar gun-slinger Jimmy Law began playing with family friend Joe Babick (drums) at a young age. Lightning struck when they were introduced to Berklee School of Music student and bass player Sam Lucid, who immediately suggested fellow Berklee student and keyboard player Jeremy Kaplan. The addition of Berklee student Brian Murray (guitar) in 2019 made for the quintessential final piece in the Dogs’ puzzle.

A string of sold-out local shows drove the development of a massive Northeast fan base, affectionately known as the Dog Pound. As the band has traversed new territory, their astronomical rise has continued nationwide. Armed with an evolving catalog of material and cultivation of an identity unique to Dogs In A Pile, the quintet is laying down a musical and communal foundation most often associated with the scene’s most beloved acts.

NEIGHBOR:

Neighbor is a dynamic quartet that blends ambitious compositions, soulful balladry, and fearless improvisations to create a unique musical experience. Featuring Richard James (vocals, keys) Rob Compa (guitar), Dan Kelly (bass) and Dean Johnston (drums), together they fuel the groove and lay a solid foundation for Neighbor’s “down home” sound.

The band’s creative incubation began in early 2019 with a weekly residency that grew in large part by the passion of their fans, the “Neighbors”, who continue to inspire the band as the fan base has expanded across the country. This dedicated community and ongoing connection to fans has become a cornerstone of Neighbor’s success every time they step on stage.

With a diverse catalog of hundreds of songs, the musical juggernaut Neighbor has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable live bands on the music scene today. Not boxed in by a single genre, their songwriting brings elements of Americana, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Soul and more. The band is putting pen to paper once again as they head back into the studio to begin work on their second album.

SEVEN TELLER:

Seven Teller is the art-rock brainchild of Baltimore musician and songwriter Sam Cochran, who started the project in 2020. A blend of funk, dance, and indie music nourishes the band’s unique, immersive sound. During live performances, the group improvises between songs by adding psychedelic textures on top of fun, upbeat rhythms. Their devoted fanbase, called the “Teller Family,” travels hours to concerts, inspiring the band to make each night feel more spontaneous and special than the last. There are moments when the whole room becomes connected and the separation between band and audience disappears. Moments like these are what the band strives for. Seven Teller’s next single ‘Chances’ releases June 6.

THE REALITY CHECK EXPERIMENT:

The Reality Check Experiment is an independent jamband from Philly.  They will be performing Ween’s album Chocolate and Cheese in its entirety along with some original music and other covers.

RUNNER AND BOBBY:

Runner and Bobby is a three-piece indie rock trio from Chicago, Illinois. Originally meeting during auditions for a punk-rock cover band, drummer Mick Smith and Bassist Lula Burke expanded upon lead guitarist Parker Bailey’s original works to create something undeniably fun, lively, and vulnerable. Their self-titled 2024 EP integrates themes that could resonate with any situation, with Cali’s Song as the cure for apathy and Wray as the best friend you didn’t know you needed. With a summer 2025 tour on the horizon, the group is working on a new album that lends itself to the live shows they grew up watching and are honored to be playing.

THE WHARF RATS:

The Wharf Rats, Live! started seventeen years ago as a project to bring a new interpretation to the long format jam sound created by the Dead. The band has evolved over these past years to incorporate Jazz & Classical themes into the improv, as well as originals in the same genre. The band has played at numerous notable venues in the DMV area, and has expanded out to the DelMarva. The sound is unique and captivating, drawing a loyal following as we expand our musical bounds that have no limits. ” Shall we go, you and I, while we can…..”
